ESTEPONA is a 10 minute drive away. It has a charming old part with its main square Plaza de la Flores where you can eat and drink in one the cafes or tapas bars.
Here you will find the famous promenade called Paseo Maritino and at its western end is the port and marina. Here again there are many restaurants and on Sundays there is a market selling leather goods, jewellery, clothes and crafts.
LAGUNA VILLAGE is a 5 minute drive away in the direction of Estepona by the beach. It is home to chic boutiques, restaurants and cafes. There is also a beach side pool with sun loungers to hire.
SELWO SAFARI & AMUSEMENT PARK. This is Spain's most famous wild life park and is a 20 minute drive from Costalita. It is a perfect day out for the family
SAN PEDRO is 10 minutes away by car. It has a bustling market on Thursdays which is well worth a visit. ( by the fairground, north of the main road on the way to Ronda ). San Pedro has a great promenade by the beach. The town has many shops, banks, restaurants and cafes.
GIBRALTAR is a 50 minute drive away.( Access to the island during the summer can be congested so it is best to leave the car on the main land and catch a mini bus onto the island ). This can be a good day out. You can shop in the various UK high street chains including M & S, visit the marina with its smart restaurants and take a historical guided mini bus tour of the island. A cable car will take you up onto the Rock where the famous Barbary monkeys live. There is duty free shopping and the £-sterling is the currency in use.
PUERTO BANUS is a 15 minute drive away. It has a marina and is well known for its designer boutiques. It also has the famous El Cortes Inges department store which is well worth a visit. On Saturdays there is a huge street market by the bull ring which is north of the main road , selling clothes, leather goods, jewellery and much more.
MARBELLA is 20 minutes by car. It has the famous promenade by the beach. The old town is charming with its Plaza de Manzanna ( Square of the Oranges ) and its boutiques and restaurants
SOTOGRANDE & PUERTO DUQUESA are both internationally famous marinas with many restaurants, bars and boutiques. They are to be found on the way to Gibraltar.
RONDA is about 1 hour away by car. This is an old Andalucian town located is a spectacular setting surrounded by mountains with the drive up there being very scenic. The Plaza de Toros is one of the oldest bull- rings in Spain. You can dine in one of several restaurants perched over the famous gorge.
Andalucia has many lovely old white villages situated in very dramatic mountain locations . We recommend going to Cesares, Gaucin, Benahavis ( which has the highest concentration of high class restaurants in the region ) and Istan which are all within 1 hours drive from Costalita
Further afield there is Castellar dele Frontera, Jerez de la Fronteria and Seville.
